The course will be based on the textbook and also on additional materials provided. During each session the students will be introduced to new vocabulary and grammar. The acquired knowledge will be gradually applied to the Biblical texts, especially to the Gospel of Mark. Students’ active participation and preparation for each class will be examined by frequent quizzes.
The objective of the course is to introduce the students to the New Testament Greek vocabulary and grammar and to provide them with the tools for correct reading and understanding of the Greek NT. Learning Outcomes: The students will gain a basic understanding of the various elements of the language. They will master a basic vocabulary of the most frequently occurring words and knowledge of the most important morphological patterns, paradigms and grammatical structures. They will also be able to make translations of select Gospel texts. It is hoped that as the course progresses the benefits for preaching and personal meditation in particular will become evident.
